  How To Autorun a CD

First off you'll need to download the file viiwebStart.zip.

Once you got the zip file download you'll need to unzip it. You should see the following files:
- autorun.inf
- icon.ico
- index.html
- testing.doc
- viiwebStart.exe

If you just burn the above files to a CD it will automatically open up index.html using the default browser, this is assuming autoplay is enable on your computer.

Since you made it this far, I'm assuming you have your own file that you want to start up. From here there is several ways you can replace what is automatically started.

  Option 1: Edit the autorun.inf
  1. Open up autorun.inf using notepad or a normal text editor.
  2. Look for the line open=viiwebStart.exe index.html
  3. Replace index.html with the HTML page that you want to be started.
  4. Burn it to the CD and it should work.

  Option 2: Replace the index.html
  1. If you already have a HTML page that you want to load. You just need to name in index.html and copy over the index.html that came with the download.
  2. Burn it to the CD and it should work.

Option 3: Open Word, Excel, PDF, etc
  1. Open up autorun.inf using notepad or a normal text editor.
  2. Look for the line open=viiwebStart.exe index.html
  3. Replace index.html with the filename of the file to load.
  4. Copy all the necessary files.
  5. Burn it to the CD and it should work.

Requirements:
- Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP with AutoPlay enable
- CD burner
